As we can see from the specs table, Canon S90 is the smallest and lightest of all, but lesser the sexiness of the LX3 and the prowess of the Canon G11. The S90 is also the least expensive model here. If money and size matter, S90 is the obvious choice. LX3 is currently out of stock in most stores, and it could go higher than the suggested retail price on Ebay. G11 is built like a tank and performed like a DSLR. It will better fit those who prefer DSLR ergonomics and features. At the end, it’s your choice. How can you make quality statements about the G11 when you’ve never tested it because its not even available in the market yet at this time of writing (23 Aug 2009)
Between S90 and LX3, LX3 is definitely a better camera. Better and faster lens through the range. Wider coverage. LONGER battery life. Better video and I love Leica optics. That being said, S90 isn’t a bad choice. I would say LX3 is a Lexus and S90 is a Collora.
Ken Rockwell seems to be crazy about the S90. I pre-ordered one from Amazon. Hope I can get it before the Canon S100 comes out.
Where’s the f-stop information in this chart?
There’s a mistake in the chart for the “Resolution” row. I believe the Panasonic LX3 is 10.1 mp, not 12.3 as stated in the chart.
