Question: I see that the flash has a “forced off” mode. Is it possible to set forced off as the default so that the camera won’t revert to flash on when other settings are changed or the camera is turned off?

Clear audio feature is stated in manual to work ONLY with Sony headphones!

Content transfer software SUCKS as it ONLY transfers file to player and deletes them. NO ripping or file editing is possible!

Outside plastic/metal casing is a Dust magnet and prone to smudges!!

Sony eSupport is NOT helpful!

E series is Sony’s entry-level players that’s suppose to compete against the iPod nano at a low price level as it costs less than the nano! Too bad most other features are missing such as user friendliness and music software!

The players work well with good music feedback but the interface could be simpler and it would help if a media software is available similar to iTunes but it’s NOT!

You must use 3rd party software to rip music and edit files (i.e. add album art) and to create playlists! Unless you do that, drag n drop feature is the only other option.

Compilation folders/playlists are a problem with the player!

Rating: 3/10
Pro: Good music player, competitively low price
Con: CRAPPY transfer software, poor support

Unfortunately, Sony makes THE WORST media software for their phones and mp3 players.
Content transfer is the music software which isn’t really a music software but is used to transfer songs!
It’s pure CRAP!
The only other options:
1. Drag n Drop (album art feature is disabled since no file tag)
2. Windows Media Player 11 (Only not the lower versions)
- WMP SUCKS as well but at least it’s better than the Content Transfer software!

Do NOT expect much from Sony or it’s mp3 players! It may be hot sellers in Asia (esp. Japan) but it doesn’t sell well in Europe or the Americas!

There will be a better M43 shortly after GF1 and there will be another following, and so on and so on…. As much as I want to buy GF1, I ma very axious about Sony’s or Canon’s response.

I bought mine from Walmart on sale before there were any feedbacks. Took a chance on it because I needed one for school. So far it has been great. My husband who is the biggest skeptic loves it. So far it is better than my last laptop. There are a few features I wish it had but what can you expect for getting a lap top for around $400.

I have experienced the same problem, within a very few days of purchase - took it back, got another one - a few days later, deja vous, all over again… That makes two machines with identical problems - I guess I’ll take this one back, too, unless someone figures out what is doing this…

I know it’s available in Canada. I just got my L500 last night. 350GB HDD, Windows Vista Home Premium, 3GB DDR2 RAM, and 2GHZ Pentium Core 2 Duo Processor…very nice indeed.

Bought mine today, Sept. 5th, and needed some tweeking. The screen wasn’t as sharp as my other Toshiba. I went into the adjustments and tweaked the contrast and brightness. A lot better. Seems to handle multiple tasks, but not sure if the WIFI is b/g/n. Not having the higher connection to match an N router will make it slower. I will test mine for a few days.

I don’t really like Windows 7 at all. I also hate Windows Vista.

I want theme pack which changes everything to look like XP, not just couple of things.

Because 7 has nothing I like, I keep XP until world ends.
